Description
Swedish M59 Jacket
First designed in 1959, these jackets were worn by the Swedish army throughout the 60’s to 90’s. They are an un-lined heavy weight cotton garment in the distinctive Swedish army emerald green. They feature a button front, two front button pockets, one internal chest and fob pocket on the left side and two on the lower back similar to the Wool jackets.
They also feature a strange flap which is secured behind the rear pockets. This was designed to pass forward between the legs and button to the front keeping the jacket securely in place – similar to that used on the British Paratroop ‘Denison’ Smock.
